Wet N Wild Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick Review + Swatches

Tuesday, March 07, 2017

I went to a Wet n Wild press event a few weeks back and got to play around with some goodies to show you guys! These are the liquid catsuit a.k.a matte liquid lipsticks the brand has come out with. They describe it as:

What glides on like butter, feels like a second skin and wont budge? Our Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick! Made with glammed out superpowers, it goes on glossy yet transforms into a high - pigmented matte finish with some serious staying power. Read our lips, This color is going nowhere. - Wet n Wild Beauty

Ingredients are as follows:
Isododecane, Cyclopentasiloxane, Octyldodecanol, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Hydrogenated Polycyclopentadiene, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Triacontanyl PVP, Propylene Carbonate, Silica Dimethyl Silyate, VPEicosene Copolymer, Polyethylene, Copernicia Cerifera Carnauba WaxCire de carnauba, Phenoxyethanol, Phytosteryl Macadamiate, Sorbic Acid, Tocopheryl Acetate, Tocopherol... colours excluded as each shade will have a different combination

HOW DOES IT PERFORM?

For a $4.99USD lipstick, these perform quite well. Now, I'm generally not a huge fan of liquid lipsticks because my lips are perpetually dry, however, these were nice to wear. They aren't the most comfortable I've worn but they're good for a drugstore brand!

I wore this a whole day once and the staying power is great -minus the inside of the mouth which generally has the weakest staying power for any liquid/matte lipstick. By the end of the day I did want to moisturize my lips but like I said, perpetually dry lips so I often feel like that!

It's not sticky and dries quickly so if you're the type to take your time for precision, you'll have to work faster than normal.

The colours I received are all pretty. Pink Really Hard is very pink and not something I'd generally wear but if you're into a pop of pink, you have to try this one out! Rebel Rose is a muted plum pink that I think a lot of people will be attracted to. Coral Corruption is a great spring/summer colour, imo. It's vibrant and I do love my corals -I feel like most people can wear coral.

Application is a standard sponge tip. Glides easy and mess free.

They swatched a bit patchy on my arm, they work best with two light layers on the lips but I didn't notice them being patchy while wearing them.

Would I purchase? Since I'm not generally a fan of liquid lipsticks I don't think I would purchase. Though they feel nice and aren't sticky, I think there are other liquid lipsticks out there that are more comfortable --but for a price! If you don't suffer from constantly dry lips these will suit you nicely! They have a great colour selection and will have something for any skin tone.

These can be purchased at Wet n Wild's website for $4.99USD

Have you tried these? What do you think of them?
