Best of the Best... My 2015 Picks That You Don't Want To Miss!Friday, January 22, 2016
The last few months of 2015 were great for me because I got hold of some really bomb products! Though these favourites of mine are in no particular order, I do believe I have a top favourite. Keep reading to find out which it is! :)
As you can see in the header, I LOVE lip GLOSSES! I know, I know, it's been all about matte lipstick but for whatever reason I grew drawn to the glosses. My most used this year were:
Make Up For Ever's Plexi-gloss in 220, Face Atelier Lip Glaze in Obsession and Milani Brilliant Shine in Nude Touch 11
1. The Body Shop's The Sparkler
I believe this is a holiday exclusive item but it seems to come and go every holiday. I'm not quite sure why they only sell it during the holidays because I think everyone would want to shower themselves in fine glitter every day. I know I sure do! I mainly use this in my hair but if I'm going out I'll go all Twilight and make my skin SPARKLE.
2. Darling Girl Cosmetics Glitter Glue and Persuasion Diamond Dust
I incorrectly called this glitter dust in my video but diamond dust is so much more fitting. I wish I could explain just how beautiful this is. It's similar to Laura Mercier's African Violet in loose form if that resonates with you at all. I also used it in my Jessica Rabbit makeup tutorial! The glitter glue is fantastic, I haven't tried any high end brands but I don't see why I'd need to now!
3. Lise Watier Rouge Fondant Supreme Lipstick in Jennifer / The Body Shop Color Crush Lipstick in 110
I like both these lipsticks for similar reasons. They're both moisturizing are are super complemtary for my lip shade. I believe TBS's 110 lippie is a universal coral shade. Jennifer is a beautiful nude pink whereas 110 is a B-O-M-B coral colour. I only wish these babies had longer lasting power (Lise Watier's is longer lasting than TBS's).
4. Lise Watier's CC Eye Primer
I didn't realize just how much I would grow to love this product when I first reviewed it. It quickly has become one of my favourite eye primers, not only because it's an apricot shade which means I can use it on my under eye area to colour correct but it is GREAT at holding my eye shadow in place. I had this funny double fold on one of my eyes and NOTHING has worked quite as nicely as this baby!
5. Make Up For Ever UHD Stick / Face Atelier Ultra Foundation / Holika Holika Aqua Petite Jelly BB Cream
All these foundations have one thing in common: DEWY FINISH! I've review both the Face Atelier foundation as well as Holika Holika's before and I still love them! In fact, I'm nearly finished my Holika Holika foundation and will need to repurchase shortly (unless another water based jelly calls my heart hehe).
I love the coverage of MUFE's but the dewyness of Face Ateliers. The combination of both of these things would be LOVELY. However it's an easy fix because a) oils/mixing and b) concealer would solve those!
Aqua Petite Jelly is usually what I grab when I'm going for a more natural look as it really looks like second skin with nice coverage.
6. Sleek MakeUP Solstice Highlighter Palette
I did not expect to love this as much as I do. I use it pretty much daily. The cream is naturally glowy and the powder give it that extra pop. The colours are wonderful and blend beautifully. What I love most is how they really sparkle as opposed to just being... metallic. I even use them as eye shadows (who says you can use makeup for only one thing?!).

7. Sephora Blush in Hysterical 11
This is a beautiful coral shade with stunning gold flecks mixed in. I think that's the sole reason I picked this up, I love anything with gold sparkles! It's similar to Nars's Orgasm and Face Atelier's Peach Gaze blush in my opinion.
8. The Face Shop Waterproof Gel Liner
I've reviewed these before and I still love them!! They just don't budge! And unf, the colours... grab these! Super affordable and similar quality to higher ends. Definitely check out these THEFACESHOP liners!
