Tangerine Lily Vitamin C Serum

For the past week I've been using Tangerine Lilly's Vitamin C serum and MAN, I have to tell you guys about this because all that hype you're hearing about Vitamin C is worth it! There are some special things you should be looking for in a vitamin C serum which I will explain.

Tangerine Lilly is a family run business based in Canada! YAY! I love supporting Canadian company's and love that it's family run as well. Their website is super cute, check them out!

Disclaimer: Product was sent to me from Tangerine Lilly to test out. My opinions have not been bought and are my own, my review is honest.

WHAT IT CAN DO:
It's basically gods gift for anti-aging, dark spots, acne scars and cell production.

Our Vitamin C Serum is an anti-aging elixir made with wonderful natural and organic ingredients. The Vitamin C in our formulation is sodium ascorbyl phosphate, a STAY C 50 stabilized form which provides a concentrated delivery system that allows absorption through the skin and conversion to abscorbic acid ( Vitamin C) beneath the skin’s surface. There it stimulates collagen synthesis and improves the appearance of the skin for a more youthful healthy glow. -- Tangerine Lilly

pump bottle means liquid squirts everywhere ;(

pH balance:
I contacted Tangerine Lilly asking what pH their serum was. You skin is naturally around ~5.5-6pH and anything too low or too high can burn or damage your skin. This serum has a pH level of 3.5 which is ideal for Vitamin C. This was the exact response I got from their team:
The vitamin C in our formulation is sodium ascorbyl phosphate, a vitamin C derivative synthesized to deliver the same benefit as Ascorbic acid which naturally occurs at a pH of around 3.5 . The vitamin C is a STAY-C 50* formulation, a stabilized sodium salt of L ascorbic acid, and is highly stable at a ph of 7 or higher.
*more information on STAY-C 50 available HERE.

DIRECTIONS:

Apply this after you've cleansed your skin and before you moisturize. For ideal results apply your regular moisturizer 15~20 minutes after application to let it do its work. If you have sensitive skin, to lessen its effectiveness you can apply after.
Packaged in an amber glass bottle for longer life and with a pump cap for ease of use, each bottle contains 30 mls of precious Vitamin C Serum for your skin. Pump several pumps of the serum into your palm. It is oil and odor free, with the exception of the scent of the natural ingredients. It is clear in appearance, and somewhat slippery in texture. Apply to a freshly washed face before moisturizing. Allow to fully absorb before applying any other product to the skin. Absorbs quickly and completely.

Okay.. I admit I got too excited and started using this the moment I got it so I don't have any proper "before" shots to show.
Discolouration around my lips lightened, hormonal acne healed faster.
WHAT I NOTICED:
I woke up after the first night noticing that my skin was MUCH smoother. By the end of the week the acne marks I had from hormonal break-outs were gone and my skin looked brighter (please wear sunscreen in the morning if you're using this!!!). I AM IN LOVE! I can't tell you how much nicer my skin looks after using this. I started with okay skin and I think I'd now label my skin DAMN, YER NICE.

It's been about two weeks since and I've been using this nightly. Recently I started to workout and I've had a few tiny breakouts. I'm going to lessen how often I use this because I think my workouts (a.k.a sweaty face) + too much skin stuff is irritating my skin. ^^;;

The one thing I didn't like about this product was the pump. I found it squirted the liquid out to my hand and didn't make for a great application. I now lay my head flat or to the side and pump directly onto my cheeks and massage into my skin from there. PLEASE change to a dropper top Tangerine Lilly!!!

I love that this is a Canadian brand and would absolutely purchase this once my bottle is finished.

Tangerine Lily lip treatment

CONCLUSION:
What I liked:

+ Candian!

+ Actual results

What I didn't like:
- pump bottle

TL;DR: It's a pretty sweet liquid serum that'll make your skin look nice.
