Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly BB

I bought this on a whim and boy am I glad I did so. I actually bought it because seeing the ingredients made me think it was similar to a certain favourite high end makeup brand of mine (more on that later though).

I specifically looked into this one because it is water-based and my skin wants some extra hydration, better to get that with a water based foundation (hence the name aqua petite jelly bb). As a bonus this comes with a sponge. I don't really see me using this but if you're a beauty blender user, you'll probably like that more than this one. It's quite dense and makes blending a little difficult. I prefer a brush over this sponge.

Disclaimer: Purchased with my own money, my opinions are my own, honest opinions.

It contains 80% Aqua Mint Water, which made from various fruits extracts and Alaskan glacial water. This is a water-based BB cream that creates light and refresh finish. The jelly texture BB cream makes skin look moist and hydrate. It is perfect to cover up facial blemish -- Holika Holika

Water, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Dimethicone, Sorbitan Isostearate, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Sodium Hyaluronate, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Leaf Extract, Codium Tomentosum Extract, Enteromorpha Compressa Extract, Macrocystis Pyrifera Extract, Ecklonia Cava Extract, Gelidium Cartilagineum Extract, Laminaria Japonica Extract, Mentha Arvensis Leaf Extract, Mentha Rotundifolia Leaf Extract, Imperata Cylindrica Root Extract, Caviar Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Triethanolamine, Stearic Acid, Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Aluminum Hydroxide, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Isohexa

HYDRATION: It's not as moisturizing as some other BB creams I've had but it's also not drying. I believe this is suitable for all skin types. This almost becomes like second skin, so although if you're oily I do suggest powder+a setting spray, I still think this is great for oily as well. It's an oil-free formula!

FORMULA: The consistency of the BB holds true to its name. It's very jelly like and feels incredibly refreshing to wear (it has peppermint leaf extract in it so although there is no tingly feeling that is often associate with peppermint, it still leaves you feeling refreshed). It doesn't feel like you're wearing any foundation, definitely lightweight and soft to touch.

Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly BBCOLOUR:I bought this in shade aqua-beige which has yellow undertones. The aqua-neutral is neutral/pink toned I believe. The colour is a surprisingly near-perfect match to my skintone. For reference I normally wear Make Up For Ever's HD Invisible foundation in 117/ Face Atelier's #2 Ivory.

COVERAGE/FINISH: This has a light-medium buildable coverage. Since this is a water based formula it's best to let a layer dry (they dry fast) and then apply a second to get maximum coverage. It leaves a satin-dewy finish which I love.

LONGEVITY: I wore this without a primer, indoors for ~5 hours with little budging which was very surprising. HOWEVER, as I was inside with and cool temperatures, that could cause the longer wear time.

FINAL THOUGHTS: It's great, go buy it! This is a great product from Holika Holika matched with a wonderful price point to boot. It feels like second-skin and has good coverage, however if you have a lot of problem areas I suggest either opting for a higher-coverage foundation or pairing this with your favourite concealer. I would definitely re-purchase,
