Etude House Precious Mineral MOIST Any Cushion ReviewMonday, April 13, 2015
We all know how I like hydration and what's another word for that? Moist, so when I saw this bb cream I didn't think, just clicked the "ADD TO CART" button and here we go, it's not in my hands.
Disclaimer: Purchased with my own money, my opinions are my own, honest opinions.
- Moisturizing: Made of baobab water (26.7%) for intensive hydrating skin. It also contains Hyaluronic acid 4 times more than other cushions to last hydrating longer.
- Creamy-Glossy Skin: With 'Glow-Lock Complex™', it formulates transparent layer on skin to enhance glossy function and prevent losing moisture, which is its secret recipe to keep skin hydrated even in winter.
- Sleek Skin: Creamy texture provides sleek skin condition. --Etude House
This is a silicone-based BB cream. These are the ingredients:
ADANSONIA DIGITATA FRUIT EXTRACT, CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, ZINC OXIDE (CI 77947), TITANIUM DIOXIDE (CI 77891), ETHYLHEXYL METHOXYCINNAMATE, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, CYCLOHEXASILOXANE, PHENYL TRIMETHICONE, PEG-10 DIMETHICONE, WATER, BUTYLENE GLYCOL DICAPRYLATE/DICAPRATE, CETYL ETHYLHEXANOATE, NIACINAMIDE, LAURYL PEG-8 DIMETHICONE, GLYCERIN, DISODIUM EDTA, DISTEARDIMONIUM HECTORITE, METHYL METHACRYLATE CROSSPOLYMER, SODIUM CHLORIDE, SODIUM HYALURONATE, STEARIC ACID, ADENOSINE, ACRYLATES/ETHYLHEXYL ACRYLATE/DIMETHICONE METHACRYLATE COPOLYMER, ALUMINUM HYDROXIDE, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, ALCOHOL, MOTHER OF PEARL, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, TRIETHOXYCAPRYLYLSILANE, PHENOXYETHANOL, IRON OXIDES (CI 77492), IRON OXIDES (CI 77491), IRON OXIDES (CI 77499), FRAGRANCE
Now, I use baobab oil on my hair and it's great so I had great expectations with the hydration effects on this BB cream.

(=) HYDRATION: It's not as moist as it claims to be, yes, it's moisturizing but it's a lightweight formula and if you're banking on using this alone without any moisturizer, you're not going to get supple skin with this alone.
(+) COLOUR: I bought "natural beige" which has yellow undertones and is quite light despite the name. It's a pretty good colour match to my skin, maybe a little bit light than a perfect match (for comparisons sake, I wear '117' in MUFE HD Invisible foundation which is a pretty perfect match for me.
(-) LONGEVITY: This is the most disappointing aspect of this BB/CC cream. It doesn't last. I wore a hydrating primer under this which doesn't promise any extra longevity but after a five hour work shift I could see my face makeup was quickly wearing off and my blemishes were showing through. With a primer, set and finishing spray you may get another hour or two but I wouldn't choose this for a long-time wear.
(=) COVERAGE: This holds a light coverage. It's not as buildable as I was hoping for but if you only have little imperfections or a great full cover concealer you won't have to worry about that.
(=) FINISH: I was expecting a VERY dewy finish with the name like "mineral MOIST" but it's more of a sheer-dewy. It comes with a soft, thin sponge which helps push the product into pores leaving a flawless finish.
Although lightweight, I found that I could FEEL it. I didn't feel like I was wearing nothing till at least 20 minutes in, possibly after it set. This could possibly be because of the silicones that are in this formula.
(+) PACKAGING: If there's one thing Etude House always does great, it's packaging. It's a simple, white compact with lace accents around their signature label. Sleek, clean, easy to place in a makeup pouch. It's a little larger than I was imaging but is pretty standard for compact size.
+ travel friendly
+ dewy finish
FINAL THOUGHTS/TLDR: Precious Mineral Moist Any Cushion is a nice, bare bones BB/CC cream. I would consider it more along the lines of a CC cream for it's lightweight features. Has great SPF coverage which helps give off a dewy finish but don't expect the Korean Drama wet makeup look with this. It's INEXPENSIVE which is a great plus and is very travel friendly for any touch ups that (will likely) be needed. I will, however, not be repurchasing.
