Guerlain Toronto Press EventMonday, March 30, 2015
I got to attend a #GuerlainSoParticular Guerlain Press Event this past week to learn more about the brand. I was vaguely familiar about the brand, the most I knew about them was that they were owned by LVMH and were higher end. I have seen their booth at Sephora but let me tell you, if you ever get the chance to go to a stand-alone Guerlain store, do it. It's a different experience. You're served champagne for one (yay!) and appetisers (though I assume this was press-only). Apparently the champagne is normal, or so I'm told by some of my friends.

One thing I learned was that Guerlain actually has a huge market in fragrance, possibly because I am so makeup obsessed I overlooked this. We were gifted a bottle of La Petite Robe Noire and it smells beautifully. I understand the difference between fragrance that is actually worth some money now.
I am absolutely essential and utterly irresistible. I am the chic and very glamorous perfumed creation by Guerlain.
My fragrance is an embroidery of the most beautiful "black" notes of perfumery: black cherry, black rose, patchouli and black tea.
My glass showcase is the legendary "heart-shaped" bottle, which has been boldly reinterpreted with a modern touch. Its crystalline transparency, shaded from black to powdery pink, reveals a silhouette of my little black dress, ready to dance! -- Guerlain
The scent is fresh, fruity and a little nutty. Check out fragrantica.com's page on it for further information on the scent. The thing I really noticed is that it is a subtle scent, it's not IN YOUR FACE and I'm so pleased at that. I'm actually so sad that I'm so sensitive to scents or else I would be wearing this often!
The packaging on ALL of their fragrances is absolutely stunning and you can tell they put a lot of work and passion into it. One of their most well know bottles is inspired by the beehive and you can tell. They're personally wrapped with this special wire-like material which I forgot the name of, woops!
We also learned how innovating they are as a brand. They were the first in the market to make the powdered beads. We were told how they all sit in a room and put a bunch of, contradictory words together because, well, people want things like oily-control yet dewy..etc and sent what they wanted to the engineers who made the machines to make these little powerful beads. There are different colours for colour correction and finish..etc I sadly didn't get to play with these but I was definitely fascinated by them.
Guerlain is made in Paris, France (where it all started), founded in 1828!!!!
