If you haven't heard about Express, let me fill you in. They have over 2 million likes on facebook, a loyal following and they're opening up a store in Toronto! I won't lie, I haven't been to any of the other locations because they're quite far for me (hash tag commuter woes) but at last! I get to experience first hand what Americans and other fellow Canadians have for a while. They're hosting a Grand Opening event on November 21st!!! And to celebrate, they're giving away a $1000 shopping spree to one lucky finger. *fingers crossed* I'll be nice and share the link to enter with you too (because really, who wouldn't love a $1000 shopping spree?!) contest entry form
The brand itself has the tag line must-have sexy, sophisticated fashion brand for work, the weekend, or going out, targeting 20-30 year olds and has been in the business for over 30 years! *raises hand* from my point of view from the fashion show this what you'd be getting walking into an Express store PURE FASHIONABLE GOLD.
|My cousin seems to think this looks like me -I'LL TAKE THAT COMPLIMENT!|
I LOVE the hints of neon yellow with the blues and blacks. 've really gotten into venturing outside the realm of blue and black pants. First outfit I instantly fell in love with those printed pants.. they're well fitted and really bring out the other colours of the outfit. I feel like wearing any pattern like this just screams LOOK AT MY STYLE and I like it!
Those hot pink pants from the second photo fit right into that mentality! There's something about black and pink that really meshes well in my opinion. I'm not even a pink fan but I own a bit of pink because of how much I love pairing the two colours. The shirt, I believe, has a little bit of a peplum flare which is super trendy right now.
Now, I'm not usually a big fan of cream coloured clothing items because I always think they blend too much with my skintone. clearly I just didn't know how to rock it. This dress pretty much demanded my attention. What I love most is that it's a little high-low but with a translucent, sparkly material layered on top. It's very elegant and I love how the scrunches and detailing really brings out someones figure. Too bad I couldn't get a frontal view of these!
This blazer. NEED. I was going to wear my current white blazer to this event before I noticed it was totally ruined by purple splotches. It's fate, clearly I need a newer, better one in my life. Colour blocking is still very much in and inserting white and black into that combo definitely speaks trendy and sophisticated to me. Huh, guess they were telling the truth with that tag line! ;) I could definitely see me wearing this to work.
You're not just getting something casual but you're picking out something that shows you are a fine, bad ass female with style. The hot pink men's dress shirt (yea that's right, the gents aren't left out in this store)? YUM. Okay, unfortunately I couldn't grab a photo of that particular item but I assume it's because I was too busy cleaning up my drool. Gotta keep my appearances up during these things! *professional* I don't know if I've said this enough but I totally love a man who can wear pink. And colour for that matter, something you'll definitely be able to find in their stores.

Actually let me confess something, I think I'm more into men's fashion more than female fashion. Or maybe it's me wishing that the men in my life would dress like this. I mean, they're like a younger, trendy versions of Harvey Specter's closet. I could see the trend of white male pants and looove it. Guys please, take note and go grab some white pants!
My two favourite male outfits were the below, I love black on black, or black on grey. It's very sleek. You've got me Express.. you've got me..
If you follow me on instagram/twitter/facebook you saw that I also got to attend the after party which DRAGONETTE played at!! AHHHH it was great! First walking into the area where it was happening all I could see was a hoard of people over at the pop-up shop.
You could pick up some items before they hit the stores there, I kept seeing people walk around the after party with full bags. haha How freaking cool! I've never seen these before (remember, it was my first time!) haha. I was pretty tempted by those purses you can see on the top shelf.
I was so excited I took photos of the mannequins, felt a little cool since I was wearing the same coloured pants as the female mannequin. heh
Overall the whole night was an experience I'll never forget and I'm so happy I could attend. I've already got my eyes on a few items, particularly the white blazer, printed pants, hot pink pants.. there were also a few dresses and shirts that had really cool back openings that I loved. Long story short I've got a long list.
If you'd like to see more photos that I took of the night, click to be taken to the facebook album.
